It’s official! Applemoon Interiors has opened its doors, right in the heart of bustling Rustington.
With business booming at her current shop in Westergate, near Chichester, Applemoon’s enterprising owner, Kim Hayman, has expanded into Rustington - and the response has been fantastic.
“I’ve been absolutely overwhelmed,” says Kim. “From the moment the doors opened at the weekend, customers came out in force to support us. There was such a fantastic buzz.”
Apart from receiving lovely compliments and feedback from customers who came from near and far, the tills were jangling all day.
“Our home accessories were flying off the shelves,” says Kim. “We also placed several orders for our curtains and blinds, and received lots of enquiries for our interior design service.”
The location of Kim’s new store in Sea Lane is very close to her heart.
“I’ve such fond memories of living here when my son was little,” Kim reveals. “As business has grown, I was really keen to bring a slice of Applemoon to this special area.
Having patiently bided her time, Kim was thrilled when suitable premises came up.
“It’s a characterful building, complete with an inglenook fireplace which lends an extra welcoming feel,” she adds.
Over the last couple of months, Kim has transformed Pacetti’s Delicatessen into a fabulous one-stop interiors store, selling a comprehensive range of enticing soft furnishings and home accessories, from bespoke table lamps and rugs, to paints and wallpapers.
The new shop, with its impressive library of fabrics, incorporates two purpose-built spaces comprising stylish room sets, bursting with on-trend home inspiration.
Customer Claire Mayne, who came from Chichester for the grand opening, says: “I think the Rustington store is fabulous, boasting a wide range of original and wonderful home accessories that you can’t buy in the more ‘mainstream’ high street stores.
“Everything is beautifully displayed, and I can see that a lot of love and thought has gone into the shop; the attention to detail simply shines through.
“It’s great to see Kim grow as an interior designer and I wish her all the very best with the store. I’ll definitely be back.”
Dawn Outen, from Waterlooville, adds: “The new Applemoon Interiors store is simply beautiful - I’m so impressed.
“Kim has got a great eye for interiors. I love all the colours that she’s chosen for the shop since they’re not just on trend but also combine to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere for customers.
“It’s fantastic news for Rustington to have Kim and her staff here to help with choices for their interiors - a friendly, approachable and knowledgeable team.”
Brenda Read, from Aldwick, says: “I’m absolutely thrilled for Kim who works so hard and has a true talent for interior design. It is super to see her going from strength to strength.
“It’s fantastic that so many people have turned up to support a new, independent store.”
